I found the above print through JHill Design, which is a team that focuses on corporate style printing such as calendars and cards. The print above gives off a 3-D vibe from its arrangement of shapes and use of the gray scale within the composition of the Capitol. I like how the print is offset into the bottom left hand corner leaving room for imagination to explore the top right hand corner. When I think of D.C. the first couple things that come to mind are hot dogs, swamps, and Minor Threat. The impact of Minor Threat on music lies further than just D.C. The raw intensity of making punk harder and faster gave Minor Threat that tie into hardcore punk. I consider Minor Threat to be one of those important life-changing bands. The idea of scratching in thumb nails with a half working dull pencil or trying to keep some kind of composition while playing a chord progressions faster reminds me of when I first got into Minor Threat.
